Filter Vs. Reverse Osmosis

1)    Filter System: These systems do not make soft water.

Carbon: Removes chlorine and taste and odors. Silica: Removes dirt (turbidity) and maximizes flow. KDF: Removes chlorine From but also inhibits the growth of bacteria. Should be changed every 6 months.

3)   Reverse Osmosis: / Water Purifier or R/O

Removes 90%-95% of the ions in the water (municipal water) and produces water like drinking water from bottled water trucks. Replaces 5 gallon bottles.

Some of the harmful materials that a reverse osmosis system filters out include:

Aluminum, Ammonia, Arsenic, Barium, Bromide, Cadmium, Chloride, Chromate, Cyanide, Ferro cyanide, Fluoride, Sulfite, Mercury, Manganese, Nitrate, Nickel, Phosphate, Silicate, Silver, Sodium, Strontium, Sulfate, Thio sulfate, Lead.

Also it filters out 85-90% of all organics including: THM's, PCB's, Pesticides,  Herbicides, and Benzene.
