The majority of all service related companies offer a 30 day parts and

labor warranty with any in home repair. Most will offer an additional "manufacturer" warranty on the part that you purchase from them.

OK, so you purchase their part, faucet, toilet, water heater etc..

and it goes bad in 6 months time and the part  you bought from

them in good faith is covered under the "manufacturer warranty".

What do you do.

You call the plumbing company and say hey this part that you sold me in confidence with the xxx warranty is not working, understanding the labor issue may or may not be out of date,  please repair or replace the defective item  you sold me. 

What do you get. Over the phone;

95% of the time your trusted, installing plumber will tell you, that it is a "manufacturer warranty" issue. You need to call the manufacturer.

More often than not though they will set an appointment with you some

two weeks down the road to come look at an additional service charge only after will they tell you that  YOU need to call the manufacturer as it is not their problem passing the buck but only after taking theirs..
